With the holiday season coming up, I’ve had a lot of requests on how to make some great unique wedding favors that relate to the holiday season. One of the most popular wedding favors for the holiday season is to give your wedding guests a mix of some kind, such as hot chocolate, coffee, and apple cider drinks that can be enjoyed after the wedding. Making these drink mixes is incredibly easy, and the ingredients can be bought in bulk rather cheaply, and with a cute packaging, you can’t go wrong. So, without further ado, here is a great recipe for apple cider which my family has been making for years. It’s great, and just the smell of the mix brings back great holiday memories for all.
Ingredients :
- 2 cups Tang
- 1 cup Instant Tea
- 2 cups Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon Cloves
Directions :
- Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container to keep the mixture from sticking.
- To serve, add two tablespoons to mug and pour hot water over top. Stir and enjoy.
This was always our favorite recipe for apple cider/spiced tea. The Tang gives the apple cider mix a great citrus taste thats unique to other mixes out there. Try it for yourself, you’re sure to love it.
The best way to package this unique wedding favor is in small airtight jars. Look on the Internet, or in stores for a deal, and when you buy in bulk the merchant should cut you a deal for it. Hot glue some material on top of the jar, or a silk flower, and then create a tag for the neck of each jar that gives serving instructions, as well as some cute phrase such as “A Perfect Mix, your names and wedding date, or romantic verse. You may also want to include the recipe in case any of your guests would like to create the mix again for themselves in the future.
Another way to package this could be with airtight resealable bags. To decorate the bags, you could place each one inside of a personalized mug wedding favor which can be purchased cheaply from the Internet as well. You can also gently tie ribbons around the middle of the bag with a tag, or try using glue to attach a sick flower on the middle of the bag. Don’t use hot glue though, as the bag will melt and cause a big mess….been there, done that.
