More Great Bridal Shower Themes

More Great Bridal Shower Themes! In the not so distant past, bridal showers were serious events meant for women only, an elegant affair with nearly all of them located in someone’s parlor or garden, serving cucumber sandwiches and other finger foods and all participants gave the bride sweet, thoughtful gifts. This is not so today! Today, bridal showers have themes, are full of games, and hostesses for these bridal showers are getting more and more inventive with their themes, foods, gifts and even invitations. In fact, in many bridal showers today, men are also invited. If you are wanting to throw one of these great new showers, but are short of ideas, here are some more great ideas for bridal shower themes.

The Paper Theme:

Just as the name implies, all guests are asked to bring paper products to help stock the bride and groom’s new home. Gift ideas for this can include, paper towels, paper plates, napkins, toilet paper, computer paper, paper cups, envelopes, stationary, and much much more. A friend of mine at work was thrown a paper shower before her wedding, and she said that she and her husband were so well stocked, they did not need to buy anything of their own until a year or more after their wedding. With the Paper Theme, you can choose any snacks you like, as well as invitations.

The Alphabet Theme:

This is another popular bridal shower theme. Each guest is assigned a different letter of the alphabet in their invitation, and brings a gift with something that starts with that letter. It’s fun to see how creative some people can get with their letter. For example, for the letter ‘P’ you could bring pillows, plates, platters, or even pink fuzzy socks. Snacks could include Alphabet cereal bars or Alphabet soup. You could bake cookies and use cookie cutters in the shapes of letters for fun as well. Invitations could be a child’s invitation, something with the letters ‘ABC’ on the front is a cute idea as well, though you could make them yourself pretty easily. The Hand-Crafted Theme:

This is an idea that my sister thought of for me when we were planning my wedding. Look on the Internet for a location near you, but there are businesses around where you can rent a room for a group of people and paint pottery. All paint is included, and you buy whatever you would like to paint. All items are fired there, and picked up by a designated person after everything is complete. Grab a group of people, and the bride of course, and rent a room. Have all the guests make something special for the bride and groom to decorate their new home together. Then, not only will she have great homemade decorations around her home, but the memories of that day as well. Having snacks there may not be an option, but lunch or dinner before or after the event is a great idea and will enable everyone to spend a little more time together.

The Home Improvement Theme:

This bridal shower theme can go several different ways, but each way makes it into a co-ed bridal shower. One way to you can work this theme is to have all the guests bring tools, or gift certificates for tools, paint or wallpaper to help the bride and groom do fix-it repairs on their home in the coming years. Guys like it because they get tools. Another way you can work this bridal shower theme is to have everyone showing up ready to work on the couple’s soon to be new home together. They can paint the inside of the house, start a flower garden in the front, any number of small projects which no one needs to be a real expert in to accomplish, and one that won’t overwork your guests either.
