Make Your Own Hot Chocolate Wedding FavorsWith the winter season coming up, many brides are searching for great wedding favors for winter weddings. One great idea that many are doing is to pass out a mix of their favorite winter-time drink. One of the all time favorite winter drinks is hot chocolate, and if you don’t already have a recipe for making your own, then it’s about time that you did. Not only is it something great to keep around the house, but the hot chocolate mix can be made in bulk and separated into containers for some great homemade wedding favors. You could buy premade mix, or the individual packets of hot chocolate mix, but that could end up being much more expensive than just buying the ingredients and making it yourself. So, without further ado, here is a great recipe for a powdered hot chocolate mix that you can easily make at home.

This recipe has been modified for 100 servings, you may need to modify it again for as many servings as you will need to cover all of your guests.

Ingredients :

  • 4 - 1/3 cups white sugar
  • 2 - 3/4 cups and 3 tablespoons powered non-dairy creamer
  • 2 - 3/4 cups and 3 tablespoons dry milk powder
  • 2 cups and 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions :

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine sugar, powdered creamer, milk powder and cocoa powder. Mix well and store in an airtight container
  2. To serve, put 2 to 3 tablespoons of powder in a mug, fill with hot water and stir.

A great way to package this is with small jars such as baby food jars or some other smaller jar. Peel off the labels (if there is one), and cover the lids with cloth which can be hot glued underneath the lid. Make a tag with serving directions or even the recipe, and tie it around the neck of the jar. Now you have a great homemade wedding favor which your guests can enjoy for time to come. Another idea of making this wedding favor is to fill the jar halfway with hot chocolate mix, and fill it up the rest of the way with marshmallows for your guest’s hot chocolate favors.
