I had been to weddings before where the church and reception hall were just filled with flowers, to the point where once you walked in, the room was just filled with the sweet perfume of the flowers. I wanted something along those lines, but since I couldn’t find any affordable wedding flowers on my own in different flower shops, I had to settle for having real flowers in the wedding ceremony, and artificial flowers on the tables in the reception. We did transfer some of the flowers from the ceremony to the reception, but the bulk of my wedding flowers were artificial. You can find affordable wedding flowers for your wedding ceremony and reception. In fact, it was something I didn’t even find out about until far after the wedding while talking to a friend. Affordable flowers for your wedding are out there, and they can really make your wedding day something special that people will remember for years to come. Here are some great choices for finding cheap wedding flowers for your special day.
Check Grocery Stores
Believe it or not, most grocery stores, as well as stores like Sam’s, and Wal-Mart have a florist department that can handle your wedding flowers at a much discounted price. Since all flowers look the same, no one will be able to tell that you used a florist from someplace other than a specialty flower shop. These stores also hire professionals to create flower arrangements, so you won’t be missing out on any expertise either. A good thing to remember, if you are going to have one of these stores create any large flower arrangements, you can save even more money if you provide your own vases or containers. You won’t believe how much you’ll save.
Look for Wholesale Flowers
This is what I learned from my find. She lived in the Houston area, and was able to find a wholesale flower dealer from which to buy her wedding flowers at a greatly discounted price. In fact, she was able to buy beautiful red roses, enough for nearly a dozen on each table, her beautiful bridal bouquet, the boutineers for the groom and groomsmen, as well as some other hand tied flowers for her bridesmaids to carry. The only downside of this is that you need to go and pick up the flowers yourself, and put them together the night before. Not too hard if your bouquets are hand tied, and the boutineers are simple rosebuds and pins. She saved tons of money, in fact she paid about half of what I did total on all of her flowers. A great idea, and since it was too late for me to use, you should totally look into it.
Know Your Seasons
If you are absolutely set on having a certain type of flower in your wedding ceremony, check and see which season is best for having that flower in your wedding. Flowers ordered out of season are more expensive than when they can be cut fresh and are in abundance. Its a great easy way to try and save money on your wedding flowers.
There are plenty of things that you can do to get affordable wedding flowers for your wedding, and since hindsight is always 20/20, there are always things I’ll find out about later that could have been done differently to make things easier or work better for you.
