 With brides making their weddings more and more personalized, it’s not surprise that more and more aspects of the wedding are becoming more personalized as well. Thats why many brides are looking into bouquet accessories to make their wedding bouquet more their own style. You’ll see it in celebrity and everyday weddings alike. Bouquet accessories can include any number of things, the sky really is the limit. I myself carried a vintage scarf which belonged to one of my aunts wrapped around the stem. Below are some great ideas of the most popular bouquet accessories that you can use. Some of them you can make yourself if you want to, or else use something that is meaningful to you on your wedding day.
Crystals
Crystals are an idea most usually used by celebrities. Luckily, if you like this idea, it’s one that you can easily copy and make yourself. There are two ways to do this. First, you can create crystal ’sprigs’ if you will, which will be placed between the flowers of your bouquet. Your florist can easily add them in, you’ll just have to remember to get them to the florist beforehand. Another idea I’ve seen is to create an entire bouquet completely out of crystals. You can buy small clear stones at craft stores, along with wire and a set of pliers and make them yourself. Its very sparkly and pretty. For our wedding, the groomsmen had crystal boutineers which I bought in Mexico on one of our mission trips, and they worked great, and were something everyone could hang onto after the wedding.
Charms/Pictures
If you have a special someone not able to attend the wedding due to death or illness, one thing you can do is have a small picture of them placed into your bouquet somewhere. Again, you’ll have to work with your florist for the best place to put it. Or, if you have a charm or other trinket that has special value to you, see if your florist has any ideas for adding it in.
Cloth
I carried a vintage white handkerchief of my aunt’s which was bought overseas wrapped around the stems of my bouquet, and it meant something to the both of us when I carried it down the aisle. Other ideas for this is to cut a length from your mother’s wedding dress and use it to wrap around the stem of the bouquet. It’s a beautiful addition and one packed with memories
There are lots of ideas for different bouquet accessories, the choices really are endless. I’ve known some people to forgo the bouquet completely and instead carry down their family bible. If you choose to use bouquet accessories then you will have a bouquet that is all your own, total you.
