When you’re planning a wedding, there are a lot of decisions and details to consider. Perhaps one of the first decisions that you’re going to have to make is the ring. Guys, if you’re buying an engagement ring for your sweetheart, you’ll want to know a little something about diamonds before you jump right in there and buy one. An engagement ring is a huge purchase, and you want to know you’re getting a good deal and not being sold a piece of junk that is way overpriced. So if you’ve decided to go ahead and pop that question with a beautiful diamond engagement ring, thats great. But like I said, you need to know something about how diamonds are classified and about their worth so that you can make an informed decision.
The 4 C’s to Choosing a Diamond
Back in the early 1950′s, the diamond industry set up a set of guidelines for grading and rating a diamond. The grading system ended up as it is today, with a GIA rating system. This system grades a diamond based off of 4 basic qualities. They are: clarity, cut, carat and color. I feel that each area is too important to simply leave to giving you a quick description of them, and thus have decided to make this a little mini-series. As you can tell from the title, I’ve decided to discuss the clarity aspect first.
What is Diamond Clarity?
Diamond clarity is basically the quality of diamonds in relation to the existence and visual appearance of internal characteristics of a diamond.

Looking for the Off-Season
When my husband and I got married, our wedding was taking place between the popular seasons for Mexico. We were between the chilly days of winter where couples and families from Europe and Canada try to beat the cold for a while in tropical Mexico. But we were also a little to early for those wild and crazy spring breakers as well. Since there wasn’t as much demand for the resort during these off seasons, they were more willing to offer their rates at a lower price to draw people into their resort.

When my husband and I were planning our honeymoon, we needed to find the best deal necessary, while still having a great honeymoon. My family was helping me with paying for the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception, but my husband was paying for the honeymoon all by himself. Not only that, but we had just purchased a small starter home for ourselves that he was already feeling the heat on with as well. So needless to say, we really needed to find a great deal on a terrific honeymoon. We talked to some friends who pointed us to a nearby travel agency with a favorite agent that they had there, but we just couldn’t seem to get through to her that we wanted a great honeymoon on a number that we considered to be in our budget (not a price she kept telling us was a great deal). So eventually, exhausted, discouraged and frustrated, we decided to go a different route. If this is you, and travel agencies just don’t seem to be getting you anywhere, why not go to the Internet? Which is just what we did. I’ll explain how we got there.
Finding Honeymoon Packages Online
I don’t know why we didn’t think of it before, looking for honeymoon packages online. Our honeymoon just seemed like something so important to shop for that any online packages wouldn’t be able to help us. Boy were we wrong.

While you can find your dream wedding cake while browsing through numerous photo galleries (I did), that won’t help you a bit in determining how much that wedding cake will cost. So how much does a wedding cake cost anyway? Well, that actually depends on several different variables that go into creating a wedding cake. While the costs of creating a wedding cake will vary from bakery to bakery, it’s best to know what an average cost for wedding cakes are, as well as some definite factors that can raise the cost.
How Wedding Cakes are Priced
Wedding cake prices are not typically given out as a total cost per cake. Now I did look at some brochures for wedding cakes from some local grocery stores, and they did show a picture of a wedding cake and give a price for that cake as seen in the picture. That however, is not your average case. Most bakeries will charge you a “per slice” fee.
