Many brides this year are looking for a casual wedding sundress that they can wear for perhaps a beach or other kind of outdoor wedding of their choosing. A wedding sundress is the perfect kind of wedding dress for a causal wedding that may or may not have a lower budget to work with. It’s a simple fact that not all people out there want the same kind of gigantic traditional wedding, and would rather host a smaller more casual wedding and forgo spending potentially thousands of dollars on a wedding dress, and instead of a simple wedding sundress in which to get married. Finding the perfect wedding sundress can be difficult, I googled it earlier and didn’t find much that could be of use. So if you are planning a casual outdoor wedding and are looking for the perfect wedding sundress to wear, then here are some great places to look.
Look for a Wedding Sundress at a Department Store
Once the spring and summer season start to roll around, many department stores and other clothing stores will start to bring out their spring and summer lines.
Spring and summer clothing lines will typically host many different variety of sundresses of every color under the sun, some of them being all white that you can use for your wedding sundress. The only problem with finding your wedding sundress in a department store is that it could be like looking for a needle in a haystack, and if you do find an all white sundress to use, you may hate the style. But it never hurts to look, so maybe call for a girl’s shopping day with some of your bridesmaids and have them each scour a certain department store looking for white sundresses. This is much more time effective.
Make Your Own Wedding Sundress
If you or any family members have any skill with a needle, and can follow a pattern, then you may want to consider making your wedding sundress by yourself, or with the help of an experienced seamstress. Scour fabric stores and the Internet for a style of a pattern that you like, and the material shouldn’t cost much at all. With an experienced seamstress, you should also be able to make any little changes to the pattern you like, such as maybe a longer skirt or different sleeves. You’ll find that when you make your own wedding dress, you could save up to fifty times as much money as someone who purchases their wedding dress from a popular bridal boutique.
Other Wedding Sundress Tips
There are a few important things to consider when planning an outdoor wedding with a wedding sundress. First of all, if you are creating an all white cotton wedding sundress to wear, be sure to consider the lighting. A long slip would definitely be in order. Also, be sure to consider the time of day you will be married. If you are planning a beach wedding at sunset, and are wearing a wedding sundress, be sure to consider that those winds coming in could cause a chill, making you uncomfortable.
With more and more couples choosing to have a causal wedding and save some dough for after the wedding, the wedding sundress is definitely in this year for casual weddings. Consider your options carefully on if you want to try and find your wedding sundress in a department store, thrift store, or other clothing boutique, or if you want to create your wedding sundress by yourself.

My brother had one of those, smaller weddings. His bride, my sister-in-law wore a sundress. I thought it worked very well with the low-key, marriage is the important part, wedding.
