My Bed Bath and Beyond Wedding Registry

Wedding Registry Add comments

My Bed Bath and Beyond Wedding RegistryIn the past, I’ve done several articles on the dangers of having your wedding registry at certain stores.  My warning on some of these stores has been to some of the horror stories that I’ve heard of either continuous bad customer service or even a rotten return policy. Thus far, I haven’t really offered up any good stores with which to have a wedding registry, and it just kind of hit me that I should really start talking about which store I went with for our wedding registry, and how it worked out for  me. There are some great locations to get do your wedding registry with, and I chose to have a Bed Bath and Beyond wedding registry. Let me tell you how it went.

Opening the Registry

Around the time that my husband and I were planning our wedding, it seemed like every spare moment was filled with some kind of activity. If we weren’t at work, then I was doing wedding planning, going for a run, working at our church, or getting ready to pack up my stuff to move after the wedding. My husband’s schedule wasn’t any better. So when we found ourselves with an extra hour to spare, we decided to be productive and visit our local Bed Bath and Beyond to set up our wedding registry. Honestly, I didn’t even think about having to set up an appointment.

Turns out, no appointment was necessary, and they had someone there to help me within about 5 minutes after my arrival. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the whole process. In fact, the lady I spoke with was their wedding specialist, and all she did was work with brides and their wedding registries. It was very refreshing.

Registering for Items

Our Bed Bath and Beyond wedding registry specialist walked my husband and me around the store in a way so that we hit on all of the basics of what we would need to start off our lives together. She was very methodical showing us around the store, explaining what everything did and was for, and patient while we decided if it was right for us, and which one we wanted. Not only that, but she helped us to be able to match some of the items we had chosen earlier with items that we were looking at right then. She was very helpful. Once we had gone around the whole store, we gave us a print out of everything we had registered for, showed us how to use our Bed Bath and Beyond wedding registry, and told her to call if we had any questions.

Our Bed Bath and Beyond Wedding Registry Online

One of the things that our family loved about our wedding registry at Bed Bath and Beyond was that everything was online. They could easily look up our registry online, purchase something and have it sent to us. Most of our family handled it this way. But whenever I looked at our registry online, the list had been updated, and it was completely accurate with what I had received and what I hadn’t.

After the Wedding

I think the real test of a wedding registry’s worth is how they handle your returns and customer service after the wedding. Some stores, like Target, love getting the sales from your wedding guests, but when it comes to making returns or exchanges, they get totally stingy. This was not the case at all with my Bed Bath and Beyond wedding registry. I was able to come in as many times as I needed to return certain items that I’d had duplicates of, and was easily able to exchange one set of towels for another color. I probably went to do returns and exchanges about a half dozen times, and each time they were friendly, accommodating, and really tried to work with me. Plus, I got cash back for many of the items that i was returning, and not just store credit. Granted, I spent it in the store for stuff I didn’t get for my registry, but I liked the customer service in that regard.

One Problem

I did have one small problem with my Bed Bath and Beyond wedding registry, and they worked very hard to make it right. First of all, it took my husband and I a lot of time to finally pick out a quilt for our bed that both of us liked. When we finally chose one, I registered for it at the store with no problems. But then, I never got it as a wedding gift, and so once I had all of my returns, I was going to use those returns to purchase my quilt. Well, come to find out that right after I did my wedding registry, my quilt had been discontinued, and they had forgotten to let me know about it. I was so upset, and their manager came out, made a few calls, and found one for me in one of their stores that he had shipped over.

All in all, I had an excellent experience with Bed Bath and Beyond for my wedding registry. They really worked with me and my husband to make sure that we got what we wanted for our wedding, and that really is the way that it should be. After all, your wedding registry is going to be bringing them lots of sales and money, they don’t need to be treating you like garbage.
