Once the spring and summer season start to roll around, many department stores and other clothing stores will start to unveil their spring and summer lines. White is always a fresh and popular color for spring, so you shouldn’t have any problem finding an all white sundress you can easily turn into a simple wedding sundress. Of course, there are so many department stores that finding your dream wedding sundress can be a lot like searching for a needle in a haystack so you need to dedicate some time to shopping (an extra excuse to go shopping!). You could always make a day of it with your bridesmaids where you meet at the mall for lunch, then split up and hit the different department stores to look for a dress that would work as a wedding sundress. Many families (unlike mine of course) have someone who can really sew! Sewing is always easier with a pattern (from what hear anyway), and someone can make a wedding sundress relatively cheaply and easily this way. Making your own wedding sundress is a great way to get exactly what you want, and you won’t have to settle on a dress you don’t like just because it’s the only white one you’ve found. With a pattern you can always make some small changes, such as making the length longer or shorter.
Some Other Very Important Wedding Sundress Tips
As with any wedding dress, there are always extras that must be considered. This should really go without saying, but I’m going to say it anyway. If you are having an outdoor wedding in a wedding sundress, be sure to consider the lighting and if you will need a slip. You’ll end up revealing more than you wanted to family and friends, and your wedding pictures if you’re not careful. Also, you should consider the time of day you will be married. If you are planning a beach wedding at sunset, and are wearing a wedding sundress, be sure to consider that those winds coming in could cause a chill, making you uncomfortable.
With more and more couples choosing to have a causal wedding and save some dough for after the wedding, the wedding sundress is definitely in this year for casual weddings. Consider your options carefully on if you want to try and find your wedding sundress in a department store, thrift store, or other clothing boutique, or if you want to create your wedding sundress by yourself.
