Choosing Your Wedding Colors

Wedding Planning 3 Comments »

Choosing Your Wedding ColorsOkay, before I start, I had a totally hard time choosing my wedding colors, and looking back, I may have chosen another color or even a combination of colors to give my bridesmaids and decorations a little bit of a break to make it easier to match everything. For my spring wedding, I wanted my colors to be something bright and cheery, but also didn’t want my bridesmaids to hate me and hate the dress (I choose peach by the way). I wanted to match (or at least not clash) with the colors in the church, and since my bridesmaids consisted of two blonds, a red head, a brunette, and one with black hair, I wanted something that would compliment each person’s skin tone. If you need help choosing a color for a redhead in your bridal party, check out my other article, Bridesmaid Dress Colors for Redheads. Anyway, for days, I walked around looking at colors and color combinations, but it doesn’t have to be that hard for you. Here are some great helpful hints for choosing your wedding colors.

Do I Need Bridal Portraits?

Wedding Photography No Comments »

While planning for my wedding, I had a lot of pressure to schedule to pose for bridal portraits, and to be honest, I never really saw the need for it. For those of you who don’t know, your bridal portraits are taken prior to the wedding day, typically a month or two before hand. You’ll need to get all dressed up, have your hair and make up done like you will the day of your wedding, and go out the the photoshoot. Most brides do this so that they can post the pictures at the entrance of the reception, or somewhere else. It is a classy idea, and lots of people do it. Beautiful scenery, a bride dressed in white equals some beautiful pictures and memories. Plus they are probably more beautiful than anything that will be taken of you at your actual wedding ceremony. Face it, you may not have the same scenery at your wedding ceremony or reception hall.

Affordable Wedding Flowers

Wedding Flowers 2 Comments »

Affordable Wedding FlowersI had been to weddings before where the church and reception hall were just filled with flowers, to the point where once you walked in, the room was just filled with the sweet perfume of the flowers. I wanted something along those lines, but since I couldn’t find any affordable wedding flowers on my own in different flower shops, I had to settle for having real flowers in the wedding ceremony, and artificial flowers on the tables in the reception. We did transfer some of the flowers from the ceremony to the reception, but the bulk of my wedding flowers were artificial. You can find affordable wedding flowers for your wedding ceremony and reception. In fact, it was something I didn’t even find out about until far after the wedding while talking to a friend. Affordable flowers for your wedding are out there, and they can really make your wedding day something special that people will remember for years to come. Here are some great choices for finding cheap wedding flowers for your special day.

Save Money on Your Wedding Photography

Wedding Photography No Comments »

Save Money on Your Wedding PhotographyFinding a photographer for our wedding was perhaps the most difficult part of my wedding planning. I went and interviewed with countless photographers, and I just couldn’t find one that felt right. Some charged by the hour, some charged by the hour and received costs for wedding packages, and some just charged for packages, and I really had no idea which way to turn. Also, it appeared that my wedding photography would be the most costly part of the wedding, more than serving a dinner for 175+ people. I just couldn’t accept that, and tried to find any alternative I could. As you know by now, I don’t agree with vendors charging more than they normally would simply because they are suppling for a wedding instead of a family. So, if you are looking for some way to cut your photography budget without losing quality photographs, here are some great things I found out to help you save money and still get great quality photographs.

Make Your Own Apple Cider Wedding Favors

Wedding Favors 1 Comment »

With the holiday season coming up, I’ve had a lot of requests on how to make some great unique wedding favors that relate to the holiday season. One of the most popular wedding favors for the holiday season is to give your wedding guests a mix of some kind, such as hot chocolate, coffee, and apple cider drinks that can be enjoyed after the wedding. Making these drink mixes is incredibly easy, and the ingredients can be bought in bulk rather cheaply, and with a cute packaging, you can’t go wrong. So, without further ado, here is a great recipe for apple cider which my family has been making for years. It’s great, and just the smell of the mix brings back great holiday memories for all.
