Today, more and more brides are starting to let their bridesmaids have more of a say in the style of bridesmaid dress that they wear. It’s a great idea, and your bridesmaids will totally appreciate it if you choose to go that way too. The fact is, the chances that one style of dress will suit the body type of each of your bridesmaids is slim. With my wedding, all of my bridesmaids were basically the same size, and I knew that a simple A-line dress would compliment each one of them, so they all had the same style. There has always been a great debate among brides during their wedding planning if they should have all of their brides looking uniform and the same, or if they should allow the bridesmaid to choose their own dress. When I was in college, my best friend asked me to be her maid of honor. Not knowing much about weddings then, I searched out what I was supposed to do. First of all, I’m pretty quiet to begin with, and secondly, public speaking doesn’t really top my list of favorite things to do. That is the way it is with most people though. Everyone experiences butterflies in their stomach, shaky hands, cold sweats, any number of signs of stage fright. The thing to remember about writing your maid of honor speech though, is that no matter how much public speaking scares you, you’re there for the bride. The best thing to do for any kind of speech is to write it beforehand, practice and memorize it. If you can’t memorize, or are worried that you’ll forget with all the stress, then bring a note card along. The more you practice, the more comfortable you’ll be when you deliver it. One of the best things about bridal showers is that they can be anything that you like if you use your imagination. There are virtually hundreds of different kinds of bridal shower themes that you can use, and really, bridal showers with a theme are a whole lot more fun! Another popular kind of bridal shower is called a cakes shower. A cakes shower is a way to help the bride expand her recipe book for when she is married and acting as the primary homemaker. As previously stated, I am a Christian, and I want my life and activities I do to demonstrate that to others around me. Therefore, when the bridal showers started, I didn’t want any kind of bridal shower game that was dirty, or what I considered inappropriate, in my opinion you don’t need those kinds of games to have a good time. I did find though, that if you’re looking around on the Internet for Christian Bridal Shower Games, you don’t really have a whole lot of options. There are plenty of games, however that I have played in the past, not necessarily at bridal showers, but that are still clean and appropriate to play with any group of people.
