Planning a Wedding Day Schedule

Wedding Day Tips No Comments »

Planning a Wedding Day ScheduleTo keep your wedding from turning into a crazy free for all with no organization or plan is an excellent recipe for disaster. Granted, there can always be something that crops up at the last minute, causing  a scramble, but your whole day shouldn’t run that way. It makes things extra stressful for you, things can easily be forgotten, and those wanting to help can be left out to dry while you try and handle everything by yourself. Not a good combination for a joyful and happiest day of your life wedding day. The best way to keep the craziness at bay is to work before your wedding day takes place to create a wedding day schedule for you, your wedding party, and any other relatives and guests who are there to help make your day easier. Having trouble coming up with a wedding day schedule? Here are some important necessities to remember to include.

Mapping out your Wedding Day Time line

Perhaps the best way to start creating your wedding day schedule is to create a time line of events. On a sheet of paper, list the time the wedding starts down, along with any other firm times, such as hair appointments, delivery times, photography sessions, availability times for decorating the church or reception hall, and as many more as you can think of.

Planning a Wedding Day Brunch

Wedding Day Tips No Comments »

Planning a Wedding Day BrunchThere are some things about your wedding day that may be more difficult than others. What was hard for my husband and me was that we had lots of family coming in from out of town, out of state, and some even out of the country to attend our wedding. Because we were so busy planning the wedding, decorating church and reception hall, doing the rehearsal dinner and and activities surrounding it, it was really difficult for us to be able to spend time with some of our family members who had come great distances. We had missed them and wanted to spend time with them, but time restraints just didn’t allow the long lengthy visits that we really wanted. We tried our best, foregoing a good night’s sleep before the wedding, and having a long wedding reception, but it still wasn’t quite the same. So when my sister planned a wedding day brunch for the morning of her wedding, I thought that was an excellent idea, and one to write about today.

Why plan a Wedding Day Brunch?

Like I mentioned above, a wedding day brunch is a great way for the bride and her family to be able to spend more time with her bridesmaids, family members, and other special friends and people in her life.

My Bed Bath and Beyond Wedding Registry

Wedding Registry No Comments »

My Bed Bath and Beyond Wedding RegistryIn the past, I’ve done several articles on the dangers of having your wedding registry at certain stores.  My warning on some of these stores has been to some of the horror stories that I’ve heard of either continuous bad customer service or even a rotten return policy. Thus far, I haven’t really offered up any good stores with which to have a wedding registry, and it just kind of hit me that I should really start talking about which store I went with for our wedding registry, and how it worked out for  me. There are some great locations to get do your wedding registry with, and I chose to have a Bed Bath and Beyond wedding registry. Let me tell you how it went.

Opening the Registry

Around the time that my husband and I were planning our wedding, it seemed like every spare moment was filled with some kind of activity. If we weren’t at work, then I was doing wedding planning, going for a run, working at our church, or getting ready to pack up my stuff to move after the wedding. My husband’s schedule wasn’t any better. So when we found ourselves with an extra hour to spare, we decided to be productive and visit our local Bed Bath and Beyond to set up our wedding registry. Honestly, I didn’t even think about having to set up an appointment.

How to Include Children in Your Wedding

Miscellaneous No Comments »

How to Include Children in Your WeddingIt seems that any time I open myself up to question and answer time with brides, the question always comes around about them looking for ways to incorporate their children into their wedding. These are typically women who are on their second marriage, usually widowed or divorced. As much as I hate divorce (being a child of divorced parents myself), I understand that it is something that many couples go through. Many other brides are simply looking for ways to include younger siblings or other family members into their weddings. But if you’re on your second marriage, or have just been a single mom struggling to raise your kids by yourself, then it’s understandable that you would want them to have some part in your wedding ceremony. Here are some great places in your ceremony where you can easily include your children in your wedding.

Giving the Bride Away

This is a popular choice for moms with sons.
