I’m sure you’re finding that planning a wedding is hard and expensive…really expensive. Many brides who are having to watch their wedding dollars are discovering the wonderful world of DIY weddings. DIY, of course, stands for do-it-yourself, and there are lots of different places in your wedding where you can save a bundle just by doing some of the jobs yourself. One of the things I really love about DIY weddings is that you really don’t have to be an expert craftswoman or really crafty to get a lot of your wedding jobs completed and save a ton of money. When we were planning my wedding, we found lots of great DIY wedding tips that we used to save a ton of money, and I’m super glad we did. So if you are looking for some great DIY wedding tips that can help you save money on your wedding and are super easy to do, look no further!! Here are some DIY wedding tips that anyone can do, and you’ll be suprised by just how much money you’ll save.
DIY Weddings – Wedding Programs
If you have a computer and a printer, a great DIY wedding tip is to make your own wedding programs with the use of Microsoft Publisher, or another similiar program. I created my own wedding programs, and it was super easy and cheap. I took a favorite picture of the two of us and copied it onto the front. Then, I spent several hours making sure all my information was in there and formatted how I liked it. I put the file on a thumb drive and drove to a local print shop, where they printed and folded all the copies for me, for only .40 a copy. It wasn’t hard, and only took a few hours to create, which is what most of the DIY wedding tips are all about.
DIY Weddings – Wedding Invitations
Another one of my favorite DIY wedding tips are DIY wedding invitations. You can find all kinds of great information out there about how to make your own wedding invitations, and there’s alot that I could write about it. You can make DIY wedding invitations really easily from a kit you buy at the store, some card stock and a printer, and more. DIY Weddings – Wedding Favors
Wedding favors are another popular item for DIY wedding enthusiasts, and the ideas for DIY wedding favors has a wide range of possibilities. From homemade cookies, cupcakes or gingerbread men wrapped in cellaphane to wine glass charms made from beads and wire, the ideas really are limitless. Some other favorites are burned CD’s with a decorative label and songs from the wedding, hot chocolate mixes in jars, homemade salt or sugar scrubs, or even flower pens made from fake flowers, pens and green floral tape. The options for DIY wedding favors is huge, and you’re sure to find some great ideas online or talking to friends.
The trend of DIY weddings isn’t new, nor is it going to go out of style anytime soon. Saving money on your wedding is important. But perhaps the best thing about finding DIY wedding ideas for your wedding is that you can have the satisfaction of getting some of your wedding stuff done all by yourself, adding some of your own personality to it, and saving a ton of money in the process.
