Summer is an excellent time for wedding proposals, with the warm weather finally here and school being out for the summer. Summer is an excellent time of the year for relaxing, taking time away from your busy schedules and spending quality time with the people that you love. That’s part of why summer wedding proposals seem to be so popular during the summer months. So, if you’re looking at getting engaged this summer, and are looking for some great ideas for summer wedding proposals, then here is a great list of ideas you can use to help you get started.
Taking a Trip to the Beach
Some of the most romantic wedding proposals can be done on beaches. I say that mainly because my husband proposed to me on the beach, and I just love going to the beach and being in the water. So if you are wanting to propose on a beach, there are a number of ways to do it including:
- Spell out the words “Marry Me” with white rocks or sea shells along the beach. You can go earlier and leave to find later, or you can wait until she’s swimming or sunbathing to write it out. You can also take the rocks or shells so that you can use them in your wedding decorations if you want.
- Create a message in a bottle with an empty bottle and cork, and bury it the night before at the beach for you two to dig up later.
- Build yourself a gigantic sand castle, placing her ring somewhere in the castle for her to find when she comes over to admire your work.
- Put her ring inside a clam shell, and go snorkeling with the shell in your pocket. When you get out of the water, tell her what you found and that there might be a pearl inside if she can open the shell.
Going to the Pool
- Dive down to the bottom of the pool and come up holding her ring saying, Look what I found in the bottom of the pool!!!!”
- Take a late night swim in a local pool, but come early to string up some lights or place candles around. Then, ask her to dance and get on one knee.
- Place the ring box in her beach bag when she’s not looking, and then ask her for some sunscreen.
Backyard BBQ or Picnic
Plan a nice picnic in a nearby park or beach. Be sure to pack your lunch pail with lots of great specialty goodies, such as chocolate covered strawberries, gourmet salads and breads, or other kind of food that you both enjoy. This is not a time for plain sandwiches!! Then, once you’ve served the dessert, bring out the ring box and ask her to marry you.
There are lots of unique times and places that you can use for some great summer wedding proposals. Be sure to plan carefully and to wait for just the right moment, because a wedding proposal is something that you both will remember for the rest of your life.
