Martha Stewart Wedding CenterpiecesThink what you may about her, but you can’t dispute the fact that Martha Stewart is the Queen of do it yourself crafts, decorations, foods, and so much more! I’ve never watched her show, not just because I don’t have a television, but also because while I do like to do crafts, I’m not always very good at them. But Martha Stewart can do it all. Weddings are one of her specialities as well. If you’ve looked through her magazines or watched her show, or even just seen some of the weddings that she has done, they’re simply beautiful. She can make some foam globes and pieces of tissue paper look like a million bucks, and all for a very economical price. So how can you use her techniques and create some impressive Martha Stewart wedding centerpieces that will impress for less? Here are some great ideas for Martha Stewart wedding centerpieces you can make yourself.

All the Things You can do with Lace

One of the main themes that some Martha Stewart wedding centerpieces boast is using some kind of inexpensive fabric, like lace, to turn some ordinary vases or votives into something really fancy. Use a hot glue glun to attach your lace to the outside of your vases, and then fill with white candles for a romantic glow on your tables. You can also use fresh flowers for another tradtional wedding centerpiece with a little bit of flair.

A Little Bit of Flowers, a Little Bit of Paint

There are other kinds of Martha Stewart wedding centerpieces that can be easily done with just a few small blooms and painted pots to put them in. For example, choose the color of flower that you want, along with your favorite kind of bloom, and paint some very small terra cotta pots to match. So for example, if you want to use the Texas state flower, the bluebonnet, you could paint each of your miniature terra cotta pots a bluebonnet color blue, then plant one bluebonnet bloom in each pot. Circle several around the table, or place them together on a large plate at the center of the table. This can be very elegant with white orchids and white pots.

Who can Forget the Topiary?

Of course, who can forget about the famous Martha Stewart wedding centerpieces which are the bright and colorful topiaries? Topiaries are the names for the beautiful and elegant round ball of flowers that I’ve mentioned in other articles. Most everyone knows what they look like, but many don’t know what they’re called. To make a topiary, get some terra cotta pots and paint them whatever color you like, some Styrofoam balls, any kind of fake flowers or vines and other accessories (like pearls, moss, figurines) you want to use, some floral tape, and a hot glue gun.

To make these Martha Stewart wedding centerpieces, trim off the stems to the flowers you want to use, trimming them even to the point of removing the round plastic piece right under the bloom, you want the flowers to glue down securely so they’re not falling off during your wedding reception. Use the floral take to tape the Styrofoam to the pot.  If you’re using flowers only, apply a dab of glue at the middle underside of a flower, and stick it onto the form. Go all the way around your form, and then work your way up with each flower. Pretty soon the whole shape will be covered, with a beautiful wedding centerpiece. There are so many different options you can use with a topiary, like dried flowers, old Christmas decorations, fall leaves, greenery, and more.

Martha Stewart really does have a lot of great do it yourself ideas for wedding centerpieces and decorations. Whether you can do crafts or not doesn’t really matter with these ideas for Martha Stewart wedding centerpieces! Just realize that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to have a beautiful and elegant wedding. Later on, you’ll be glad you didn’t waste the money.
