Wedding Headpieces

Wedding HeadpiecesIf you’ve done any kind of searching through bridal magazines, then you’re sure to have noticed that nearly all of the brides in there are wearing one of many kinds of wedding headpieces. Wedding headpieces is kind of a generic term, but there are many different kinds of wedding headpieces that brides can wear to adorn their hair on their wedding day. There are many different kinds of wedding headpieces to choose from, and you’ll need to consider what kind of wedding you are having, as well as what your wedding budget is before you start looking at wedding headpieces. While some headpieces can be just a few dollars, such as a beautiful flower or group of flowers, other wedding headpieces can be ornate and costly. So if you have your wedding dress and are looking for the perfect wedding headpiece to accent your wedding hairstyle, then here are some great options you can look at when choosing wedding headpieces.

Using Flowers as Wedding Headpieces

This is perhaps the least expensive option you can go with for your wedding headpiece. Talk to your florist about what kind of flowers you’d like in your hair, such as one large colored flower or many small white flowers. Your florist can tell about which kinds of flowers are sturdy enough to last a whole day without wilting, as well as how much each bloom will cost you. Flowers can make a beautiful and an elegant headpiece for your wedding day that won’t cost very much.

Bridal Tiaras and Headbands

Many brides choose to go with a bridal tiara or headband for their wedding headpiece as an added touch of elegance and beauty. It can be difficult to find the perfect tiara or headband to serve as your headpiece, but be patient and find a headpiece that you fall in love with. I chose a small bridal tiara that had delicate little flowers on it and crystals, but it took me several months. See my article on Bridal Tiaras for more information. Bridal tiaras and headbands can make beautiful wedding headpieces with a sparkle, but you could wind up paying a pretty penny if you’re not careful. One of the great things about bridal tiaras and headbands is that you can keep them after the wedding as a memory. Only, as I’ve found, there aren’t many places outside of a wedding where you can wear a bridal tiara and not look silly.

Bridal Hats and Other Headpieces

As I mention in one of my previous articles about Wedding Hats, some people really love the idea of using wedding hats as a wedding headpiece. Granted, if you have the right kind of wedding hat then you don’t really need to worry about having a wedding hairstyle. But there are many different kinds of wedding combs you can purchase any kind of decoration on them, such as silk flowers or even crystals for a sparkley wedding headpiece.

There are many different kinds of wedding headpieces that you can choose from to create your perfect wedding day look. The best advice I have for choosing the perfect one is to look around in several nearby bridal boutiques and jewelry stores (Claire’s typically has some great tiaras) for ones that you like. Also, look in bridal magazines for a particular look that you love, and try your best to copy that look…even if it means creating your own wedding headpiece.

Bridal Tiaras

Wedding Hairstyles No Comments »

Bridal TiarasWhen thumbing through all the pictures of the different wedding hairstyles available to the bride, it can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many different ways that brides can wear their hair for the big day. Long flowing hair cascading down your back, a fancy updo, or a wedding hairstyle that is halfway up or just full of curls, the possibilities are endless. For more information about the different updos you can choose from, and how to choose, see my previous article, Wedding Hairstyles. One popular accessory to the different wedding hairstyles that brides look through are bridal tiaras. I’m seeing them more and more with the different weddings that I attend, and I even wore one for our wedding. There are all different types of bridal tiaras from which to choose, and you need consider several options when choosing the right bridal tiara for you.

Consider Your Wedding Dress

You don’t want to have a bridal tiara that is huge and ornate and have a simple wedding dress. Likewise, it would look odd if you had a huge ornate wedding dress and a small, simple and barely visable bridal tiara. Bridal tiaras come in every height, design, and shape. When I was looking for my bridal tiara, I saw many different bridal tiaras that were the size of a Miss America crown which stood nearly a foot off the brides head, some bridal tiaras that were shorter, and some that were simply jeweled headbands. Since my dress was simple, I choose a bridal tiara that resembled a jeweled headband. It was made with many different crystals and beads which looked like flowers, and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it.

Consider Your Wedding Hairstyle

You really do need to have some kind of idea what kind of wedding hairstyle you’d like to have when shopping for your bridal tiara. Now, you don’t need to know exactly what wedding hairstyle you’re going to have, but just some idea. If you know that you want your hair down and wavy, then when you try the different bridal tiaras be sure to leave your hair down. If you know that you want your hair completely up, then when trying on the different bridal tiaras bring a clip and put your hair up with it to see what it would look like.

Take Your Bridal Tiara to Your Hairdresser

When you are visiting your hairdresser to finalize your wedding hairstyle, be sure to bring your bridal tiara along. That way when you experiment with the different wedding hairstyles you can see what kind of wedding hairstyle would look best with your bridal tiara.

Bridal tiaras make a great addition to your wedding jewelry and bridal look. They add a touch of elegance and grace, drawing attention to you, the bride. You can find bridal tiaras at most any wedding store, online store, or catalog. Personally, I found mine while on a vacation in Monterrey, Mexico. A friend took me to several bridal shops, which had cases and cases of different kinds of bridal tiaras. It look several stores to find one that I loved, but the search was worth it.
