Sturdy Beach Wedding Centerpieces

Probably the best place to start when thinking of ideas for beach wedding centerpieces is to highlight something that the beach is known and celebrated for.

So, for example, if you have round tables at your wedding reception, then a nice arrangement of seashells and starfish or even coconuts is a very attractive choice. For more color and depth, spray paint some small branches to have sticking out of your arrangement. If your tables are long and rectangular, then find some longer pieces of driftwood, clean them up and place them in the center of your tables. Then, to liven up, place some small tea lights around either on top or at the base of the branch. If you’re concerned about flames, then decorate the branches with colorful blooms.

If the beach wedding that you’replanning is an indoor event with a  beach theme, and isn’t quite as informal as an outdoor affair, there are some great elegant options for beach wedding centerpieces as well. Fill a giant hurricane vase with sand and small shells, along with a large white candle. Another elegant idea for beach wedding centerpieces is to submerge some sand and sea shells about a third of the way deep in a tall vase with water. Then, add some floating candles for a turly “floating” look. Have vases of varying height at each table for a really cool effect.

If you’re having a more informal beach wedding, there are some fun ideas you can use for beach wedding centerpieces to help everyone enjoy their time. Buy some packs of paper umbrellas, and place them in decorative cups in the center of each table, or use buckets filled with shells, flowers or peices of fruit for a great visual. Glue some shells along the outside to pump up these great beach wedding centerpieces.

Red Wedding Themes in What to Wear

If you are looking at red wedding themes and wondering what kinds of stuff to wear, there are several options you can use. Of course, it goes without saying to look for red dresses for your bridesmaids to wear.

One popular trend these days is for the bride to wear a splash of color on her wedding dress to match her bridesmaids, and if you want to follow this trend, add a red sash or lining to your wedding dress. Just a bit of red against which creates an elegant and dramatic effect for red wedding themes. For your groom and groomsmen, you don’t want them looking like they are on their way to prom or a choir concert – so stay away from cummerbunds!For red wedding themes, go with a red jacket and bow tie, and use red roses or other types of flowers for the lapel.

The first place you need to start with decorating any wedding is with your linens. One of the best combinations for red wedding themes is a bright white tablecloth with red napkins. You an create a vibrant centerpiece by creating a red topiary made from silk flowers, folded ribbon, or red and white material. Or, let each guest take home a red rose from your wedding centerpiece. Other great options for red wedding themes are bright red apples with tags around the stem, giant red lollipops, Hershey’s Kisses wrapped in red foil, or mulberry scented candles.

Animal print is such a popular trend right now! If you’re a big fan of animal prints, why not incorporate zebra prints into your wedding decorations.

You don’t have to overdo it so much that your guests think they’re on a safari, but a touch here and there can go a long way. So wrap your vases in some fabric with zebra print, have black tablecloths with a zebra print table runner, or even just have some zebra print napkins set out for your guests to use. With black and white weddings – it is so easy to create a dramatic look that is classy, elegant and of course, ultra-sophisticated.

As if zebra print wedding decorations weren’t fun enough. You can find other great wedding decorations for black and white weddings if you just look around. If you’re getting married in the winter, and are looking at black and white weddings – why not feature those cute black and white penguins in your in your decorations? Other great ideas for black and white weddings include black and white butterflies, black and white tigers, caterpillars, and more! One of the great things about black and white weddings is that you can use some of those great fun wedding themes and still have a classy and elegant affair.

One of the things I love the most about black and white weddings is that they can be very easy to decorate. Not only is black and white a classic color combination you can find virtually anywhere, but those colors are so predominant that it’s easy to find decorating materials to use for  black and white weddings. Personally, my wedding colors were peach and ivory, and even though my wedding was in the spring, I had a lot of trouble finding the color peach for wedding decorating. Luckily, brides planning black and white weddings won’t have near the problems that I did finding material to use at their weddings.

After looking at great pictures of black and white weddings, I have to admit that I’m really falling in love with black and white weddings. They’re ultra easy to decorate, and they are not only classy, but sophisticated, elegant and sometimes even a little edgy. There is something timeless and sleek about black and white weddings – and maybe that is why we are seeing such a new surge in popularity. Even in a world that is filled with colors, it can be easy to see why black and white weddings will never go out of style.

Submerged Fruit in Water

What a fresh and trendy potential wedding centerpiece! Just grab a bunch of lemons and limes, cut them in half and submerge them in water in a big beautiful vase. The lemons and limes will keep their vibrant color and will make a beautiful centerpiece. Any size or shape of vase will work wonderfully.

Submerged Fruit with Candles or Flowers

Another twist that you can add to the option above is to place some floating candles in the water above the fruit to add a romantic glow to your wedding reception tables. If you are not able to use candles in your wedding reception, then consider filling the vases only half full of fruit and water, and then placing a small bouquet of colorful flowers in the vase as well. I’ve seen this done before and the effect is beautiful. If you are on a tight budget, then use a vase with a wider mouth, with just a few blooms on top of the water to float. This is a truly elegant and beautiful centerpiece.

Fruit Tower Centerpieces

Another fun idea for using fruit in your wedding decorations are some fruit towers. I’m not sure of the specific name of them, but they are basically a tower of stacked fruit which sits on a flower pot vase of some kind. From what I understand, they are pretty easy to make, and you can find lots of great instructions for making them on the internet.

These are a great way to add some color and height to your reception centerpieces as well. Fruit is a beautiful and inexpensive choice for wedding centerpieces. I’ve only mentioned using lemons and limes, but you can also use oranges, grapes and whole pineapples to help create the beautiful wedding look that you are going for. Wedding Reception Decorations Celebrating Couples

One thing a friend of mine is working on for her wedding reception decorations is to celebrate love through the use of pictures. She is requesting that her married guests send in a wedding picture of themselves that they are going to blow up and hang around their reception hall. Pictures of the bride and groom will of course be hanging up as well. This is a great set of wedding reception decorations that are fun to look at, remember, guess who each couple is, or laugh at the styles during that time period. Print off the pictures in black in white so that they will all “match” somewhat, and pair it off with some flowers to help set the room off. Trust me though, not many people will be looking away from the pictures.

One great wedding reception decoration that you can use that won’t really break the bank is colored fabric. I’ve seen some beautiful creations of different colored fabric draped from the ceiling, or draped and looped around the room that really adds a lot of color and depth to the room. Any colors will work, perhaps the colors of your wedding, or just a plain white can really look elegant as well. Depending on the height of your reception hall, you may need ladders and lots of people to help to make it really give off the look you want. So play around with it until you find the look you are going for.

More Wedding Reception Decorations

1. Candles and Coffee Beans – This one is used most often, and is the easiest to incorporate. Simply fill the bottom of your glass candle holder with coffee beans, and place a candle of any color in the center to be lit. You can also use several tea light candles instead of a large candle to save you some money, and it adds romantic lighting.

2. Flowers and Coffee Beans – For your wedding flower decorations, fill the bottom of a glass vase with coffee beans, and place your flowers into the vase so that they are sitting in the coffee beans. You can use either real flowers or silk (silk won’t wilt due to lack of water)

3. Circle of Coffee Beans - I’ve seen this done, and it is very elegant. Create a large centerpiece on the table, and fill shot glasses with coffee beans, and place them around the main centerpiece on the table. Now, this can be a bit of an overkill if you are planning on your main centerpiece being candles and coffee beans, but it will look great if you are using flowers.

4. Coffee Wedding Favors - The choices are limitless when it comes to coffee wedding favors, and it will also add color to your table. Create small packs of chocolate covered coffee beans, or regular coffee beans of your favorite brew, with a tag called Romantic Brew, or Love is Brewing, or some other cute coffee quote.

Once you buy your coffee beans for your wedding decorations, be sure to store them in medium sized air tight bags to keep them fresh and smelling great.
