Decorating For a Fall Wedding

Wedding Themes No Comments »

Decorating for a Fall WeddingFall is an excellent time of the year for weddings, and personally one of my favorites, though fall weddings are less common than spring and summer weddings. In Texas, fall is a beautiful time of the year, cool mornings and evenings, and beautiful cooler weather in between. This mild weather makes outdoor fall weddings cool and comfortable for everyone involved. If you are having a fall wedding, I’m sure you’ve found that there aren’t nearly as many articles and help with ideas on decorating your wedding with a fall theme. It is incredibly easy to decorate for a fall wedding, and the results are absolutely beautiful. Here are of my favorite ideas for decorating for a fall wedding.

Choosing your Wedding Colors

In Texas, the leaves don’t really change colors very much, but in some parts of the country, the changing of the leaves show off some brilliant colors, and brings people out from their homes just to look at it. If you are wanting to use a fall theme for your wedding, look at darker tinted oranges, greens, and browns. There are some very beautiful dresses in these colors, and they compliment just about any skin tone. Decorating for Fall

First of all, think about your table linens. Any color that you can add to your wedding reception using table linens is worth doing. The color of your table linens can make or break any color scheme for which you are going, so choose carefully. Next, you will want to choose your fall centerpieces. There are several different options from which to choose, and you can add a bit of variety to any one of these ideas.

  • First of all, I really love the idea of using pumpkin spice candles. They are colorful, and when lit their fragrance fills the whole room. Place a large pumpkin spice candle on each table, or other smell of your liking, and around the base of the candle spread colorful plastic leaves which you can purchase at any craft store.
  • Another great idea that I like is using real or plastic gourds, or Indian corn which can be purchased in bags from a grocery store, or from a craft store if you choose to go plastic. Then, within the gourds place some type of greenery or other decoration. This idea can be varied with pumpkins or apples as well.

Fall is a beautiful time of the year, an excellent precursor to the winter season. Fall weddings can be just as beautiful as spring and summer weddings. If you are getting married in the fall, play up your season and celebrate it! Highlight the beautiful colors of fall and make them a part of your special day.
