The Different Wedding Veils

The Different Wedding VeilsWedding dress shopping can be a bit overwhelming. If you are like most people, you don’t really know what kind of wedding dress would look good on you, and you just want to shop and look around for a wedding dress that you fall in love with. Plus there are so many terms to remember, the length of the train, the bustle, the under garments, and of course, the different types of wedding veils. Wedding veils come in all sorts of lengths as well, and it’s best to know what is available to you when doing your wedding dress shopping so that you can get it right. So, here are the different types of wedding veils that you have to choose from.

Blusher Veil – the blusher veil is a single tier of veiling used to cover the face during the ceremony and be removed or flipped back. This is also called a shoulder veil.

Bubble Shaped Veil – This is a veil designed in a ‘bubble’ shape around the head of the bride to create a more voluminous look.

Cathedral Veil – the cathedral veil is a long formal veil that is worn with dresses that have cathedral trains. Also, shorter veils may be work with the cathedral veil.

Chapel Veil – this type of veil is designed to be worn with chapel length trains, which extend about 4 feet out from the waist.

Elbow Length Veil - obviously, this type of veil extends to the elbows, and typically has multiple layers.

Fingertip Veil – again, obviously, this veil extends to the fingertips and typically has several layers as well.

Short Veil – this veil is typically only a foot or so long, and can be worn with longer veils during the ceremony. In this case, most brides wear the short veil to the wedding reception.

Tiered Veil – the tiered veil features multiple layers that are one piece.

There are many ways to wear the different kinds of wedding veils. Some wedding veils have scalloped edges, giving off a romantic feel. Other wedding veils are corded, meaning that they have a small, typically colored piece of cloth around the edges of the wedding veil. Wedding veils can be worn alone or with a bridal headpiece. Other wedding veils are lace instead of tool, which make quite a statement as well. These wedding veils are really beautiful.

When choosing your wedding veil, it is important that you try your wedding veil on while wearing your wedding dress. I had this problem a lot. I would pick out a wedding veil that I thought was just beautiful, but once it was on the wedding dress it just didn’t look right.
