Wedding Headpieces

Miscellaneous, Wedding Hairstyles 2 Comments »

Wedding HeadpiecesIf you’ve done any kind of searching through bridal magazines, then you’re sure to have noticed that nearly all of the brides in there are wearing one of many kinds of wedding headpieces. Wedding headpieces is kind of a generic term, but there are many different kinds of wedding headpieces that brides can wear to adorn their hair on their wedding day. There are many different kinds of wedding headpieces to choose from, and you’ll need to consider what kind of wedding you are having, as well as what your wedding budget is before you start looking at wedding headpieces. While some headpieces can be just a few dollars, such as a beautiful flower or group of flowers, other wedding headpieces can be ornate and costly. So if you have your wedding dress and are looking for the perfect wedding headpiece to accent your wedding hairstyle, then here are some great options you can look at when choosing wedding headpieces.

Using Flowers as Wedding Headpieces

This is perhaps the least expensive option you can go with for your wedding headpiece. Talk to your florist about what kind of flowers you’d like in your hair, such as one large colored flower or many small white flowers. Your florist can tell about which kinds of flowers are sturdy enough to last a whole day without wilting, as well as how much each bloom will cost you. Flowers can make a beautiful and an elegant headpiece for your wedding day that won’t cost very much.

Bridal Tiaras and Headbands

Many brides choose to go with a bridal tiara or headband for their wedding headpiece as an added touch of elegance and beauty. It can be difficult to find the perfect tiara or headband to serve as your headpiece, but be patient and find a headpiece that you fall in love with. I chose a small bridal tiara that had delicate little flowers on it and crystals, but it took me several months. See my article on Bridal Tiaras for more information. Bridal tiaras and headbands can make beautiful wedding headpieces with a sparkle, but you could wind up paying a pretty penny if you’re not careful. One of the great things about bridal tiaras and headbands is that you can keep them after the wedding as a memory. Only, as I’ve found, there aren’t many places outside of a wedding where you can wear a bridal tiara and not look silly.

Bridal Hats and Other Headpieces

As I mention in one of my previous articles about Wedding Hats, some people really love the idea of using wedding hats as a wedding headpiece. Granted, if you have the right kind of wedding hat then you don’t really need to worry about having a wedding hairstyle. But there are many different kinds of wedding combs you can purchase any kind of decoration on them, such as silk flowers or even crystals for a sparkley wedding headpiece.

There are many different kinds of wedding headpieces that you can choose from to create your perfect wedding day look. The best advice I have for choosing the perfect one is to look around in several nearby bridal boutiques and jewelry stores (Claire’s typically has some great tiaras) for ones that you like. Also, look in bridal magazines for a particular look that you love, and try your best to copy that look…even if it means creating your own wedding headpiece.

Wedding Hats - All The Rage?

Miscellaneous, Wedding Hairstyles 1 Comment »

Wedding Hats - All The Rage? From what I understand, wedding hats are starting to make a comeback. Now I know that if you look through any of the bridal magazines with the latest bridal trends, sometimes you will see the model wearing a variety of wedding hats - and other times she’ll just show of a sleek wedding updo. Personally, I never even considered looking at wedding hats when I was planning for my wedding. Wedding hats held no interest for me, but granted, I don’t like wearing hats in general. I prefer to feel the wind and the sun, and all of the other elements that can be detrimental to your hair and complexion. Anyway, I’ve been reading on some different wedding websites that say wedding hats are starting to make a comeback, and not just on the runway, but wedding hats are showing up in everyday weddings as well. So I thought I’d look into it and let you know about this interesting turn of events.

Wedding Hats - Whats Great About Them?

Hats in general, not just wedding hats can add a certain touch of style and personality to one’s appearance. Wedding hats will definitely offer brides and unique and potentially classy look. If you’re the kind of girl who loves hats and vintage looks, then maybe wedding hats are for you. There are plenty of vintage style wedding hats that will not only remind your guests of a simpler time in history, but will also make quite a statement. Wedding hats can also be beneficial at a beach or outdoor wedding, to help protect yourself from the elements. Plus, some women just look great wearing hats.

What Kinds of Wedding Hats are Available?

There are many different styles of wedding hats to choose from. From the big and floppy hats, to the small and chic, and even decorated cowboy wedding hats, the variety of wedding hats truly is extensive. Not only that, but there are also many extra touches that you can add to wedding hats to help create your perfect wedding look, such as feathers, flowers, or veiling. So explore your options. Wedding hats can be simple or elegant, or dramatic and over the top, depending on your preference.

Where To Find Wedding Hats?

I know, at least in my area, there are not any hat shops which will offer wedding hats to choose from. I remember seeing some kinds of Juliet capped veils at some bridal boutiques, but no wedding hats. In fact, the only places I’ve seen offering wedding hats are on the Internet, and I’m sure they will work with you to help create the perfect wedding hat to complete your wedding look, plus a bunch of great tips for keeping your wedding hat in excellent condition.

Again, while I was doing my wedding planning, I never even thought to look at wedding hats. But then again, I don’t wear hats in general. But if you love hats and they look great on you, the consider looking at trying on some wedding hats to complete your wedding look. I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll look one of a kind. Wedding Hairstyles with Flowers

Wedding Hairstyles 1 Comment »

Wedding Hairstyles with FlowersSometimes it can be hard choosing from the many different wedding hairstyles that are available to you. Personally, I know I looked through dozens of photo galleries of different wedding hairstyles, and had a really hard time picturing what those styles would look like on me. See my article on Wedding Hairstyles. One thing that I kept noticing while going through all of the photo galleries of wedding hairstyles was that a good number of the brides chose not to go with Bridal Tiaras or combs, or other kind of Wedding Hairstyle Accessories, but instead chose to deck their mane with beautiful fresh and fragrant flowers. It really is a great idea, wearing a flower or flowers in your hair is much less expensive than a bridal tiara, and fresh flowers add a touch of elegance and grace your wedding hairstyle. There are many different types of wedding hairstyles with flowers, but here are some ideas from what I saw while looking through all of my photo galleries.

Wedding Hairstyles with Flowers for Long Hair

Personally, I love having long hair. There are so many different things you can do with it, that you can create nearly any kind of wedding hairstyles that you like. I’ve seen wedding hairstyles with flowers where the bride just had her hair down and wavy, with a beautiful flower behind her ear or several flowers pinned into the curls down her back. I’ve even seen one wedding hairstyle with flowers where the bride left her hair down and wavy, and then pulled back small sections of hair from each side, drawing them together and attaching a flower, and doing that several times down her back. It was very elegant.Other wedding hairstyles with flowers can be an updo with a chignon or fancy ponytail and a beautiful flower or flowers pinned into it. French twists with flowers pinned in are beautiful in long hair as well.

Wedding Hairstyles with Flowers for Short Hair

If you have short hair then some of the options above for wedding hairstyles with flowers may not be available for you. But don’t think that just because you have short hair that you can’t have a totally stunning wedding hairstyle with flowers too. See my article on Wedding Hairstyles for Short Hair, and you’ll find that just isn’t true. Depending on your hair length, you can curl your hair, pinning flowers in the curls. Another popular wedding hairstyle with flowers is to simply add a glossing serum to your hair, and then pin a beautiful flower behind your ear. Another popular wedding hairstyle with flowers that I’ve seen is to have a headband and attach some flowers, also beautiful.

Flowers are beautiful creations in nature, representing love. Their sweet smell and soft texture will only help to add to your elegance on your wedding day. If you are interested in wedding hairstyles with flowers, then be sure to talk to your florist as well as your hairstylist to help you choose a flower, color, and how many flowers you would like to use.

Wedding Hairstyles for Short Hair

Wedding Hairstyles 3 Comments »

Wedding Hairstyles for Short HairOne popular choice for women today is to wear short hair, sometimes cut closely to the head, in a bob, or some other short wedding hairstyle. Personally, I have long hair, and I love having long hair. But everyone’s style is different when it comes to their hair, and some ladies prefer to have very short hair. I was lucky, with my long hair, I could choose from pretty much any kind of hairstyle that I liked. If you have short hair though, it could be a little more difficult coming up with a wedding hairstyle that will work with your shorter hair. There are still lots of different kinds of Wedding Hairstyles for you to choose from, as well as wedding hairstyle accessories to help give you the bridal look you’ve always dreamed of. So, if you have short hair, and are looking for some ideas for wedding hairstyles for short hair, here are some great ideas to help you get started.

Wedding Hairstyles with Curls

Depending on your daily hairstyle and length of hair, you should be able to apply some kind of curl into your hair. I’ve seen wedding hairstyles for short hair where the bride had curls in the back of her head, and either slicked back the front, or where the front was left as is, and a flower was placed behind her ear. The effect is beautiful. Curls can be placed in hair of varying lengths, and you’ll be surprised at how short hair can be and still have a curl in it. You don’t have to look like Little Orphan Annie to have curls with a shorter hairstyle. Even finger waves in your hair can still be glamorous, so don’t be afraid to play around with curls when you have short hair.

Wedding Hairstyles with Flowers

Having fresh flowers in your hair is one of the most beautiful and romantic wedding hairstyle accessories. See my article on Wedding Hairstyle with Flowers. They lend a fresh and feminine look to short hair as well. There are several ways to wear fresh flowers in your hair, you can place them around your head in a flower wreath, attach them to the veil, or even just lose the veil and decorate your hair with beautiful fragrant blossoms. Talk to your florist as well as your hair stylist to create the perfect wedding hairstyle for short hair for your style.

Wedding Hairstyles with a Shine

If you love your short hair, and want a wedding hairstyle for short hair that shows off your great hairstyle, then just add some glossing serum to your hair for a beautiful shine on your wedding day. Glossing serums can be purchased at any grocery stores, or from your stylist.

Wedding Hairstyles with Glamor

One great thing about wedding hairstyles with short hair is that you can easily wear a Bridal Tiara or combs without having to worry about what to do with long hair. So if you love glamor and want to look truly spectacular on your wedding day, then shop around for wedding pins, combs, tiaras and other headpieces, and even hats if you like. Wedding hairstyles with short hair look great with any of them, so glam it up for your wedding day!

Don’t worry that just because you have short hair you will be unable to have a fabulous wedding hairstyle. There are plenty of ideas for wedding hairstyles for short hair, just look around for some pictures and talk to your hair stylist. If you really must have long hair for your wedding day, then a purchased hair piece or extensions may be worth looking into. But, if your wedding hairstylist is worth anything, she will have plenty of ideas for wedding hairstyles, no matter the length of your hair, so look around until you find one that is perfect for you on your wedding day.

Bridal Tiaras

Wedding Hairstyles No Comments »

Bridal TiarasWhen thumbing through all the pictures of the different wedding hairstyles available to the bride, it can be a bit overwhelming. There are so many different ways that brides can wear their hair for the big day. Long flowing hair cascading down your back, a fancy updo, or a wedding hairstyle that is halfway up or just full of curls, the possibilities are endless. For more information about the different updos you can choose from, and how to choose, see my previous article, Wedding Hairstyles. One popular accessory to the different wedding hairstyles that brides look through are bridal tiaras. I’m seeing them more and more with the different weddings that I attend, and I even wore one for our wedding. There are all different types of bridal tiaras from which to choose, and you need consider several options when choosing the right bridal tiara for you.

Consider Your Wedding Dress

You don’t want to have a bridal tiara that is huge and ornate and have a simple wedding dress. Likewise, it would look odd if you had a huge ornate wedding dress and a small, simple and barely visable bridal tiara. Bridal tiaras come in every height, design, and shape. When I was looking for my bridal tiara, I saw many different bridal tiaras that were the size of a Miss America crown which stood nearly a foot off the brides head, some bridal tiaras that were shorter, and some that were simply jeweled headbands. Since my dress was simple, I choose a bridal tiara that resembled a jeweled headband. It was made with many different crystals and beads which looked like flowers, and I fell in love with it the first time I saw it.

Consider Your Wedding Hairstyle

You really do need to have some kind of idea what kind of wedding hairstyle you’d like to have when shopping for your bridal tiara. Now, you don’t need to know exactly what wedding hairstyle you’re going to have, but just some idea. If you know that you want your hair down and wavy, then when you try the different bridal tiaras be sure to leave your hair down. If you know that you want your hair completely up, then when trying on the different bridal tiaras bring a clip and put your hair up with it to see what it would look like.

Take Your Bridal Tiara to Your Hairdresser

When you are visiting your hairdresser to finalize your wedding hairstyle, be sure to bring your bridal tiara along. That way when you experiment with the different wedding hairstyles you can see what kind of wedding hairstyle would look best with your bridal tiara.

Bridal tiaras make a great addition to your wedding jewelry and bridal look. They add a touch of elegance and grace, drawing attention to you, the bride. You can find bridal tiaras at most any wedding store, online store, or catalog. Personally, I found mine while on a vacation in Monterrey, Mexico. A friend took me to several bridal shops, which had cases and cases of different kinds of bridal tiaras. It look several stores to find one that I loved, but the search was worth it.
