It seems that in today’s era that couples are getting married later and later. Some experts argue that men and women are putting marriage off longer so that they can really get a sense of themselves as individuals, and sort of carve a niche out for themselves in the world. Most men and women today both have their own homes, or at least living on their own with homes full of everything (such as appliances, gadgets and linens) that they need for their homes. Which is a great thing, until you’re looking at getting married and you already have two homes full of everything you need. So you don’t need very many wedding gifts, what are you supposed to do then? Register for stuff you don’t need? And instead of housewarming gifts, they’d really appreciate help in paying for a honeymoon instead. Another popular reason for using a honeymoon registry is that it’s unique and different from any other gift that a wedding guest can pay for. Maybe a parent or close friend would rather pay for a relaxing massage on the honeymoon for you both instead of mixing bowls. The third reason that makes a honeymoon registry so great is that everything can be done online or over the phone. Many services that offer a honeymoon registry have an easy to use website and some have phone services for the rare person without a computer. Plus, there are no gifts to wrap!

A honeymoon registry is simple to set up once you have found a trustworthy company to deal with. All you need to do is set up an account and fill out all of your pertinent information. Next, set up your wedding gift items and create your own personal wedding website for the registry. Once your guests reach your personal wedding website, they know they’ll have found the right place. Typically there are some kind of service charges for using an online honeymoon registry. It’s really not all that much, maybe a percentage of the amount of money brought in or sometimes a monthly fee for their service.
